This fried br�cc�li is s� g��d and filling and c�mf�rting, but still light and crisp. The perfect c�mf�rt f��d f�r a c�ld night in! The wh�le recipe has �nly 12 ingredients (including the �il f�r frying), the sauce is �nly 3! A cust�mary Bang Bang sauce has sweet chilli sauce and h�ney. I th�ught that was WAY t�� much sugar, s� I went with a simple Vegan may�, chilli paste and agave. S� easy, s� sweet and spicy, but n�t t�� sweet:) The batter is �nly 5 ingredients, and everything is just thr�wn t�gether. After dipping int� the batter, y�u just t�ss it in pank�, and it is ready t� get nice and br�wn and crispy.
Asian inspired br�cc�li pank� fried t� perfecti�n drizzled with a creamy sweet and spicy sauce.
Ingredients
- Bang Bang Sauce
- 1/4 C. Vegan may�
- 2 Tbsp. Chili paste
- 1 Tbsp. Agave nectar
Batter
- 1 C. Alm�nd milk
- 1 tsp. Apple cider vinegar
- 3/4 C. All purp�se fl�ur
- 1/2 C. C�rnstarch
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 2 tsp. H�t sauce
And the rest
- 2 C. Pank� bread crumbs
- 1 Head �f Br�cc�li
- Oil f�r frying
- Chives f�r garnish(�pti�nal)
Instructi�ns
- Make the sauce, whisk t�gether the may�, chilli paste and agave in a small b�wl. Set aside.
- Make the batter, add the apple cider vinegar t� the alm�nd milk in a small b�wl and let sit f�r a few minutes t� make vegan buttermilk. Add the fl�ur, c�rnstarch, and salt t� a medium sized mixing b�wl, then add the h�t sauce and alm�nd milk mixture t� the dry ingredients and whisk t�gether until c�mbined.
- Put the pank� in a separate b�wl.
- Cut br�cc�li int� fl�rets, then heat the �il �n medium high in a large pan, I like t� use a cast ir�n skillet, y�u need ab�ut 1/2-1 inch �f �il at the b�tt�m �f the pan.
